Our work takes us all over Europe including Southern Ireland, the UK and France.
CPD are able to take on any project no matter how difficult. This is illustrated by the Network renewal project that was carried out on Glenbeigh Mountain, Ireland. This was one the most challenging projects ever undertaken by CPD. Access to the site posed a huge problem due to the remote location and rough terrain which meant we were unable to use mechanical excavators. Our team on the ground had to dig 47 pole holes with pick and shovel and install steel tubes while the new poles were lowered into position by helicopter.

South West Ireland – 20kv Salt works programme
- Replacing porcelain pin insulators for larger glass ones
- Replacing polymerics with glass discs
- Changing transformers with larger sheds
- Installing surge arrestors on overhead lines
Start of Network Renewal Project
- Extensive refurbishment of 10kv overhead networks and preparation for 20kv change over
- Installations of new poles
- Dual ration transformers
- Larger insulators
- Reconductoring 50mm up to 150 aaac
- Refurbishment of some associated Lv network
Network Renewal Project, Co. Cork, Ireland
- Upgrading insulators and conductor, poles and transformers
- Work undertaken on a 350km stretch of network completing on average 40kms per month
Network Refurbishment Project, Dublin, Ireland
- With Norlec Ireland we averaged 40kms a month with 15 linesmen
- Working in a high profile area, a high level of customer care was required
Ashbourne Motorway Diversion, North Co. Dublin
- This project involved liaising with the client, Civil Engineers and Motorway Contractors
- Diverting 15 span of overhead network, redirecting it with new Hv overhead and underground cables
- Reconnection to existing transformers and LV networks
Finglas Roundabout Diversion, Finglas, North Co. Dublin
- 30 span of overhead network redirected to make way for a new motorway
- Plus additional 2×3 phase transformers installed
Network Refurbishment Project, Tullamore, Co. Offaly
- 700kms in total of overhead woodpole refurbishment
- Re-conductor work, replacing poles and transformers
- General refurbishment of overhead network
110kv New Build, Derrybrien
- Completed 8kms of 200mm portal construction from a new wind farm over hilly, boggy terrain
- Logistical challenges were overcome to finish the job on time and within budget
Lv Refurbishment Programme with Enterprise Power Services for Clients EDF Energy
- North of the M25 Essex and Buckinghamshire
- Refurbishment and Recon ABC of 125 spans on average per month
- 110 services on average per month
- A total of 19 men on site
